This song has a real Mightiest of Guns undertone. Brett was an important influence when we started our bands around the same time, while studying sound together. He introduced me to a lot of motivating sounds and songs, especially the gritty and dark stuff that always stuck with me.
lyrics
Little girl, what have you in your arm?
Yellow hipping, up in tune with your mum
Top-down, when I can hear water come
Melt blue, dripping along what you do
Outside, flivvering to what you don’t
Up-down, swirling into something new
Shiny liver, shivering to what you tell
I’ve found shifting kicks up in you
Top-down, only if you’re not around
Up-down, when I’ve been fused up in you
Psychedelic Rock reminiscent of early Catherine Wheel and Ride - not a bad thing. Quality musicianship and great use of spoken word sample on You Had It All - possibly Terence McKenna? Update - sample is Alan Watts - thanks to the Angry Arab for putting me right! RIYL Superfjord, Sundial circa 'Other Way Out' and the above. The Socialist Birder
