We named this song after the incredible time we had in the town of Nancy, France. Mathieu Cazanave was such a great host and person to be around, filling us with all the fun, fine wine and cheese. He booked us to play our first and only maritime gig in an old boat on a canal in Nancy. Mathieu also put us up to stay in the bunker of the psychedelic mansion from the band the Wise Dude's Revolver. A house I thought I could only dream of, with all the mind-bending psychedelic props and lights, stretching from the toilet and deep into the green overgrown garden. I learnt a few new things from this lovely posse, most importantly, how to barbecue a wheel of Camembert!
lyrics
I’ve been sleeping light
I’ve been sleeping light
But I don’t get
But I don’t get
But I don’t get
But I don’t get you
You seem glassy eyed
You seem glassy eyed
I get along with
I get along with
I get along with
I get along with you
Time keeps slipping by
Time keeps slipping by
But I won’t get
But I won’t get
No I won’t get
No I won’t get you
Psychedelic Rock reminiscent of early Catherine Wheel and Ride - not a bad thing. Quality musicianship and great use of spoken word sample on You Had It All - possibly Terence McKenna? Update - sample is Alan Watts - thanks to the Angry Arab for putting me right! RIYL Superfjord, Sundial circa 'Other Way Out' and the above. The Socialist Birder
